Marvel... why do you keep ending my favorite series? First Spider-man/Deadpool, then (maybe?) Mr. and Mrs. X (couldn't tell if that was actually ending or just moving on to a new writer... and no, I haven't actually looked into it because I want to enjoy the bliss of my denial), and now this one?!?! (Unless it's another writer switch-up? Even though that letter at the end did not sound like that... and all the loose ends got tied up...ugh... SERIOUSLY, MARVEL!?!?) Maybe if I was a bigger Marvel fan, I wouldn't care about these more "fun" series going away. But as someone who isn't really into the larger Marvel universe and its major events/players... these are the series that I love. And now... well, all I have to say is that they better not touch Squirrel Girl! But, anyways... about this particular graphic novel. I continue to love Nadia's upbeat attitude, and I love how this series highlights girls in STEM--there are young girls, teens, and women out there who need to see that they can rock that side of the brain, too. I also like the diversity in this graphic novel; it feels natural, even if it does, at times, also feel a little political. But those moments don't detract from the story or the characters and their relationships. The best part, for me personally, is Nadia and Janet's relationship. Janet is such a great step-mom, and Nadia is such a wonderful light to put beside her. Another plus--the honest and adeptly handled mental health storyline. VERY well done. In short: I'm sad to see this series go. I'm going to miss these gals, their spunk, their brilliant minds... and the special brand of comic book action that they gave us.

Fresh off her bipolar diagnosis, Nadia is trying her best to keep a good head on her shoulders. Of course, that's easier said than done when her friends are facing their own personal crises, and AIM when have their sights firmly set on stealing all of GIRLs achievements out from under them... Nadia's adventures are just perfect. They've been perfect since her series launched, and this second attempt was just as perfect if not moreso. The opening few issues deal with Nadia's recovery as well as two of her supporting characters facing off with bigotry and morons, before we seague nicely into the GIRL vs AIM of the title, which manages to put all of the characters through the wringer and wrap up all of the outstanding storylines nicely before things come to a conclusion (it's a shame we never got that Nadia vs. Pymtron story that was teased, but there's only so many pages I guess). On art is returning series artist Gurihiru, joined by Alti Firmansyah for the opening issues. Firmansyah's a little rougher around the edges compared to Gurihiru's more cartoony style, but they capture Nadia's world so perfectly without even trying. I'm so glad we're getting more Gurihiru art in mainstream comics these days. Nadia's solo series has always been wonderful from start to finish, and I wish Marvel would stop bloody cancelling her.

Miss may be better than the first volume. The thing I like about Marvel comics that they've added the last few years, is showing their superheroes when they're not fighting crime. Started with She-Hulk, was perfected with Hawkeye, and brought to genius-level with Vision. And then they threw in a few great little comics like Patsy Walker Hellcat and this. Maybe it's just because I'm getting older, but I prefer to see my superheroes freak out over an unbalanced checkbook than fight their nemeses for Miss may be better than the first volume. Maybe that's why Spider-Man has always been great. It's always had that balance from the beginning. At least, the good ones have.

So this is the “last” Unstoppable Wasp Volume as of right now, but I have hope it’ll get another continuation sooner than later. The characters and themes are just too good and too darn important to be left alone for too long. If you haven’t read any Wasp yet, do yourself a favor and catch up! 5/5 stars

Ends not with a bang, but with a whimper. The writing on this one was lower quality than usual and felt rushed, which I assume can be chalked up to the series getting canceled. It’s a shame it didn’t end stronger when I liked the previous volumes so much.

It looks like this got cancelled, at least for now, and that's so sad. Nadia is a delight, and I loved her supporting cast. I loved that we had a Marvel comic that dealt with mental illness in a realistic and healthy way. I'll miss this book.
